Fishing has been pretty good for the first few days of August. Todays outing was a real fun adventure. The trout bite was on for the morning we were able to boat 21 keeper trout in the first couple of hours with several throw backs. We then moved shallow in search for redfish and there were many fish however, with wind speeds between 1-2 mph we could not keep up with them. I decided to take a run to a hole that is in the middle of some shallow flats to catch some dums. We were able to find a hungry school. Out of that school we caught 7 drum and lost 2 more. We rounded out our day with a nice flounder and of all things a 16" whiting that will be tasty on the grill.
We had 30 nice fish all in about 5 hours, with a little wind we could have gotten some of those reds.
